I have used Indian clubs in cross training for foil fencing. By my estimation, the results have been nothing but positive. I use them to relax my shoulders and upper body. Indian clubs seem more therapeutic than anything. Of course, that’s a great thing to know as so many people seem to be suffering from shoulder injuries that require surgery. I’ve used 2 pounds Indian clubs that I got from http://www.dragondoor.com. I do know that wooden clubs are available on eBay.
I’m no expert, but it seems to me that the swinging action combined with the weight of the club gently stretches the arm and shoulder girdle.
Once again, the Art of Manliness comes through with a great article.
